StartUp Health community members Charlie Bullock (Scan.com) and Colby Takeda (Pear Suite)
Scan.com, which operates dual hubs in London, England, and Atlanta, GA, closed $220M in combined equity and debt financing to build what it calls the first national API for medical imaging. The raise breaks down into a $90M equity round led by Noteus Partners, with participation from Aviva, Concord Health Partners, YZR Capital, and Oxford Capital, plus $130M in debt facilities from VerisFi Capital and Atempo Growth to fund M&A and working capital. Scan.com connects patients, referring providers, and independent imaging centers through a single API that handles scheduling, EMR integration, and AI-routed report delivery – already the UK's largest imaging network, it expanded into the US in 2023 and says more than 900k patients have used the platform globally. The new capital will expand its US provider network and its agentic AI infrastructure for patient routing and scheduling. <source>
Pear Suite, the Los Angeles, CA-based care navigation platform for community health workers, doulas, and community-based organizations, received a $900k grant from Health Net, a Centene Corporation subsidiary, to help California community organizations strengthen their technology infrastructure and get reimbursed for Medi-Cal services. The investment builds on a partnership dating to 2023, through which Health Net has now committed more than $1.9M to expand community health worker capacity across the state. Pear Suite's platform lets community-based organizations assess social needs, coordinate referrals, document services, and bill for Medi-Cal reimbursement – infrastructure that CEO & Co-founder Colby Takeda says frees up trusted local partners to spend more time with the people they serve rather than navigating disconnected systems. <source>
