The Digest for Health Transformers & Changemakers
Food is no longer sitting at the edge of healthcare. It is moving to the center. In this StartUp Health NOW episode, two members of our Food as Medicine Health Moonshot Community share how they are helping shape what comes next: Richard Bennett of Epicured explains how medically tailored meals are becoming a reimbursable pathway to whole-person care, while Victor Penev of Edamam explores how AI and food data are opening the door to truly personalized nutrition. Together, their conversations reveal why Food as Medicine is gaining real momentum, and how innovators are building the infrastructure to make nutrition a core part of prevention, chronic disease management, and healthier lives.

What if the next major breakthrough in health was not a new drug, device, or app, but a new way to invest in prevention before illness begins?
That is the idea behind the inaugural Civic Health Forum 2026, a half-day event on June 16 in New York City that brings together investors, AI leaders, payors, providers, government officials, and founders around one urgent challenge: building health systems that work for the other 99%.
Co-hosted by Fedcap, Digital Health Hub Foundation, and StartUp Health, the Forum is designed to move beyond ideas toward real outcomes, including partnerships, contracts, and capital flowing into the largest undercapitalized markets in health.
This is where civic infrastructure, prevention, and innovation meet, and where health moonshots launch.
This week's health tech funding report spans brain-computer interfaces, Alzheimer's therapeutics, vision restoration, senior care, sleep health, value-based care, advanced therapy delivery, workforce automation, antibody design, biosensing wearables, revenue cycle management, and preventive diagnostics, with deals spanning the US, South Korea, Wales, Switzerland, India, the UAE, and Italy.
