StartUp Health community member Cala Health, the Burlingame, CA-based pioneer of wearable neuromodulation therapy for essential tremor and Parkinson's hand tremor, has secured $50M in growth financing from Trinity Capital to accelerate the commercial expansion of its FDA-cleared therapy. The new funding comes on the heels of FDA clearance earlier this month for the company's next-generation device, Cala kIQ Plus – a meaningful upgrade to the company's Transcutaneous Afferent Patterned Stimulation (TAPS) platform, which delivers personalized, non-invasive nerve stimulation through a wrist-worn device. Cala has also recently expanded patient access through Medicare coverage pathways, a critical step toward reaching the millions of Americans living with essential tremor and Parkinson's disease who have historically had few effective non-pharmacological options.

Under the leadership of CEO Deanna Harshbarger and President, Chief Innovation Officer & Founder Kate Rosenbluth, PhD, Cala has steadily built one of the most compelling commercial stories in wearable neuromodulation. Since joining the StartUp Health community, the company raised $50M in 2025, building on its 2022 $77M Series D round. With the latest tranche from Trinity Capital, kIQ Plus heading to market, and Medicare reimbursement opening the door to broader adoption, Cala is moving from clinical validation into full commercial scale.
